Don't be ashamed at His return

Do you remember when you were young? Mum and Dad gave you things to do before they went out for work. It could have been homework or chores in the house something expected to be completed before they returned.

But what happened? The car left the garage and off you went, you played to your hearts content, totally forgetting the assignment given. While playing you remembered the chores given but you said to yourself, l still have time, mummy will not arrive until 6pm its only 2pm. I will play for a little longer and then do the chores. However you enjoyed the distraction and played so much you totally forgot and then what happened? You heard the car pull in, Mum and Dad had returned.

Instead of being excited about their return, you were concerned and possibly embarrassed looking for excuses to give for not completing what was given to do.

1 John 2:28 - says, ?And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

The return of the Lord can be compared to the above.

According to the above scripture, we will not be ashamed at his appearing when we abide in him, follow his instructions and do what he requires us to do. Mark 13:34 - states? ?For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

While a person may say, ? I have heard the return of the Lord for years?, that?s not the main point. For the moment you depart from here, the opportunities you had to complete your assignment has gone forever.

I implore you to rearrange your priorities, pick up the mantle, and run.
Do what the Lord wants you to do.

Just as a person is able to be confident when their parents arrive because they have completed all given them to do, so should we be at His appearing.
