Hebrews 11 - Growing in Faith

Talk on Hebrews 11:1-12

Introduction
God sees our weaknesses yet encourages us into strength - Heb 12:1

Abel (Genesis 4)
Worshipping God

? Worship is surrender.
? Don?t be moved by the potatoes of Cain.
? Don?t allow the weaknesses of others to shape your life.
? If you do, you surrender to them (and that is worship)
? Brings God?s approval not man?s (Home, wife, husband, work)
? You need to realise what worship is in order to be consistent in it.

Enoch (Geneis 5:18-21)
Walking with God

? While Abel was ?doing? the right thing Enoch was ?being? the right thing.
? Here is the walk of faith
? Judge yourself [heart attitude, motives] - James 1:21-25
? [Example of bottles]
? Avoid throwing bottles in can Bank by talking to God.
? Prayer - ?thy will be done? Luke 11
? Roger?s book page 4 [Prayer - Living in the breath of God ]
? Perfection is not a necessity for walking with God. Obedience is.

Noah (Genesis 6)
Working with God

There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all. - Peter Drucker
? Genesis 6:9 - Noah was a man walking in integrity. Notice Noah walked with God.
? The anointing and fruit of ?godly work? is much more than what we can count.
? Noah engaged his head (understand) his heart (believing) and his will (doing).

? The testimony of Hebrews 11 is based on ?godly? work of imperfect people.
